The Women in Law Empowerment Forum is pleased to announce that its Founding Sponsor, Donnelley Financial Solutions, has created a Grant to be applied to the WILEF Young Lawyers Committee (YLC).

WILEF believes the future of the legal profession rests with young lawyers. The Grant will be used to continue building out various Young Lawyers Committees across the country.

Currently WILEF East (New York) and WILEF Southern California (Los Angeles) have active Young Lawyers Committees. WILEF Chicago is planning to launch its YLC in the fourth quarter. In the future, additional committees will be launched. Each YLC is asked to host two events per year. In addition, the WILEF East Young Lawyers Committee has a series of “Gatherings” which invite young women lawyers to interact with each other over dinner in an informal setting at the home of a Board member who is not associated with a sponsor law firm.

The purpose is to permit young women lawyers to discuss topics relevant to their career. These Gatherings have proven to be a team building exercise and have forged important bonds. Global Chair, Elizabeth Anne “Betiayn” Tursi said: “Donnelley Financial Solutions has long championed WILEF’s mission and initiatives, and we are so grateful for their continued support. This Grant will further our mission through our Young Lawyers Committees, dedicated to the promotion and retention of young women in the largest law firms and corporate law departments.”
