WILEF Announces Leadership Changes

by | Sep 20, 2017

Beginning in January, WILEF will have a Deputy Global Chair: Shira Nadich Levin, a partner at Cooley. Previously, Levin served as the Chair of the WILEF East Young Lawyers Committee.

WILEF Global Chair and Co-Founder Betiayn Tursi explained the decision to add the position: “I’m getting older and need some help. That said, I have no plans to step down from WILEF…I birthed this baby and I intend to see her grow up!”

Additionally, it was announced at the WILEF annual meeting on September 13 that Libby McGarry, a retired Simpson Thacher & Bartlett partner (pictured below), has stepped down from her role as Chair of the Gold Standard Certification Committee, having fulfilled her three years of service.

Tursi praised McGarry’s stewardship of the Gold Standard at the annual meeting: “Libby, you have done a spectacular job,” she said.

The position is now vacant.
