On September 22, WILEF will present 34 firms with the Gold Standard award. I am particularly excited because for the first time, instead of a luncheon, WILEF, celebrating its 10th anniversary, is hosting a cocktail party at the Yale Club of New York City.

Several firms will be receiving the award for the first time, while for others it will be their sixth time stepping up to the podium to accept the beautiful glass award. I always think of the awards presentation as an “Oscar moment.” And indeed we are going to have a “blue carpet” for attendees to walk.

Years ago, I recall a former chair of a Big Law firm telling me that the Gold Standard award was the most important award their firm received. That firm is one of the six-timers. I believe that the Gold Standard award sends a powerful message of how law firms support their women.
